Dr. Mich addressed the Sexual Harassment Policy that the Board had received in <br />their packet. He stated that adoption of a sexual harassment policy for the <br />district will insure compliance with state and federal laws dealing with sexual <br />harassment and that the proposed policy has been reviewed by administration and <br />that this is a first reading for the Board with adoption of the policy to be <br />presented at the first meeting in January. Jim Franklin expressed r-ncern <br />•■egarding two areas. These items were noted by administration and wdl be <br />studied/reviewed before the policy is presented for adoption. <br />Dave McKown opened the public hearing on the proposed tax levy for comment. Hr. <br />Fenholt gave a brief overview of the property tax levies by fund, noting that <br />the total levy for 1990 represents a S463,752 decrease compared with the 1989 <br />levy. The main reason for the levy reduction is the increase in state school <br />aids provided under the recently enacted tax reform law. Mr. Fenholt recom <br />mended that the Board certify the final property tax levy for 1990. <br />There being no comments from the audience, Mr. McKown closed the public hearing. <br />UPON MOTION by Kitty Crosby, seconded by Lucie Taylor, the School Board adopted <br />the final property tax levy for 1989, collectible 1990, as shown below, and <br />directed the Clerk to certify the levy to the Hennepin County Auditor. <br />General Fund (Maintenance) <br />Transportation <br />Community Service <br />Capital Expenditure <br />General Debt Service <br />$6,836,843.54 <br />635,311.14 <br />165,065.10 <br />590,743.13 <br />354,226.00 <br />$8,582,188.91 <br />Don Egnell, Froehling, Anderson, Plowman & Egnell, Ltd., presented the 1988-89 <br />Audit Report. Mr. Egnell briefly summarized the audit report for Board members <br />stating that the audit supported an unqualified opinion in accordance with <br />generally accepted accounting principles. <br />Dr. Mich expressed appreciation to Bill Fenholt and George Stubbs for their <br />work/efforts in working with the auditors. Mr. Egnell reiterated Or. Mich's <br />comments and also expressed appreciation to the district office staff for their <br />assistance and cooperation. <br />UPON MOTION by Don Anderson, seconded by John Maresh, the Board of Education <br />accepted the audit of school district records for 1988-89 as submitted by Don <br />Egnell of Froehling, Anderson, Plowman and Egnell, Ltd.
