Also present: C>»XfIes Lefevre, Counsel; <br />Gene Stroeoen, Executive Director. <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />LMCD Ch.ir JoElIen Hurr convened a Public Hearing at 7:30 A. M. on April 0, 1909 <br />to consider the application of Minnetonka Boat Works, Inc., Orono for a Special <br />Density Peroit and new dock license to increase its Boat.Storage Units (BSU) <br />froa 4t BSU to 47 BSU on Brown's Bay and froo 25 BSU to ►^'BSU on Tanager Lake, <br />■ore than oeeting the 1:10 rule under the LMCD rule at 1:30. <br />Byron Heioark and Beth Hhi! .ker were present to represent the applicant and <br />suboitted the following Public and Environoental amenities: <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br />0. <br />Public Fishing Pier <br />Liaited number of Parking Spaces for the Fishing Pier <br />One (1) Auto Look-Out, to overlook the Lake <br />Provide waste containers and disposal of the waste for Fishing Pier <br />Provide Public Rest ooa Facilities <br />Provide one (1) slip for the Water Patrol to use for emergency pur- <br />poses. <br />Satisfy drainage requirements of the municipality <br />Satisfy green screening and vegetation cover per the City of Orono s <br />Ordinance. <br />Jaoes Walker, property owner southwest of the subject property on Tanager Lake, <br />expressed concern about additional traffic on Tanager Lake, problems with <br />excessive speed by boats passing through the narrow channel, high level of water <br />skiing, safety and related accident potentials. Walker asked for assurance <br />that there would be no fishing boat rentals. The last dock near the channel <br />entrance creates a haiard. Mrs. Walker stated her biggest concern is <br />tripling the number of slips. <br />DISCUSSION <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />The Public fishing pier location has not been determined. <br />There would possibly be 10 parking spaces reserved for those fishing. <br />The Auto Look-Out would have time-limited parking <br />Heimark expressed willingness to change the position of the end slip at <br />the channel entrance to allow safe separation from the channel.
