S 12.50 <br />SEC. 12.50. WATER WELL CONSTROCTION; WELL ABANDONMENT. <br />Subd. 1. Water Well Construction Code Adopted. The <br />Water Well Construction Code, 7 MCAR, Sec. 1.217-1.230, adopted by <br />the Minnesota Department of Health is hereby adopted by reference <br />as though set forth verbatim herein. One copy of said Code shall <br />be marked CITY OF ORONO - OFFICIAL COPY and kept on file in the <br />office of the Building Official and open to inspection and use by <br />the public. It is unlawful to construct any private water well <br />except in accordance with said Code. <br />Subd. 2. Well Abandonment. When a replacement well is <br />constructed or when a building is connected to the City water <br />system, any existing well, the use of which is not intended to <br />continue, shall be properly abandoned in accordance with the <br />requirements of the Water Well Construction Code. It is unlawful <br />to abandon a well without first obtaining a separate permit for <br />each well abandonment.
