Variance FeesA $150 fee is required for a variance request not related to construction of a »»en or boring. Variances from minirauro isolation distances between wells and contamination sources, hazards, surface water and property lines are •'eluded in this category. Construction-related variances require a >j0 fee for:A) Wells with a pump capacity less than 50 gallons per minute.B) Monitoring wells.C) Dewatering wells.Construction-related variances require a $100 fee for wells with a pump capacity of 50 gallons per minute or more. All variance fees are nonrefundable.5. Isolation DistancesActual or potential sources of contamination may not be placed any closer to a well than the isolation distances prescribed by the Commissioner in <br />rule unless a variance has been requested and approved. <br />6. Construction Permits and Notifications <br />Fffegtive January 1- IQ90- the State will require permits or <br />notifications for all well construction. Unless a local Health Board has <br />a delegation agreement with the Commissioner of Health, the State permit <br />and notification preempt any local permit or notification (Minnesota <br />Statutes, Section 1031.205, Subdivision 1(c). <br />A) Water Wells <br />Prior to construction of a water well, the property owner must notify <br />the Minnesota Department of Health in writing and pay a $50 fee for <br />wells with a pump capacity of less than 50 gallons per minute, or a <br />$100 fee for wells with a pump capacity of greater than or equal to <br />50 gallons per minute. <br />B) Monitorino Wells and Dewatering Wells <br />Monitoring Well-A $50 fee must be paid for each monitoring well <br />constructed except for monitoring wells at motor fuel outlets or bulk <br />storage site, where the fee is $50 per site. <br />Dewatering Hell—A $50 fee must be paid for each dewatering well <br />except that dewatering projects with more than 10 wells require a <br />$500 permit fee. <br />4
