L) <br />CITY <br />OF <br />ORONO <br />City of OROIVO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 2694 _________ <br />A RESOLUnOH GRANTING <br />VARIANCES TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISIONS 1*2 <br />FILE #1432 <br />WHEREAS, Julia K. Whitney (hereinafter "the applicant") <br />is the owner of the property located at 4470 Forest La)ce Landing <br />within the City of o'rono (hereinafter "City") and legally <br />described ar follows: <br />Tract £■ • Registered Land Survey No. 1472, Hennepin County, <br />Minnesota, (hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for <br />variances to Municipal Zoning Code Section ^10.22, Subdivisions 1 <br />and 2 to permit the construction of an addition to the existing <br />residence, requiring a variance to allow encroachment past the <br />average lalceshore setbac)c line where no encrcpachment is normally <br />allowed, and a variance to allow hardcover in excess of the 25% <br />hardcover normally allowed in the 75—250' lalceshore setbacic zone. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />Orono, Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1432. <br />2. The property is located in the LR-IB Single Family <br />LaJceshore Residential Zoning District. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application <br />on August 21, 1989, and recommended approval of the proposed <br />variances based upon the following findings: <br />A) The entire existing house encroaches past the <br />average laJceshore setback line. The proposed addition <br />is at the opposite end of the house from the lake, and <br />will not extend the house closer to the lake than what <br />currently exists. No sicfnificent Xeke views enjoyed by <br />neighboring property owners will be encroached upon by <br />the proposed addition to the residence. <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />1
