Date: August 12, 2024 Item: 6 <br />Presenter: DJ Goman, Public Works Superintendent <br />Section: Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Title: Reroute Sewage for Lift Station #5 Improvements (351 West Lake Street) <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to proceed with lift station bypass pumping as part of <br />scheduled rehabilitation of lift station #5. <br />2.Background: <br />The city council previously approved rehabilitation of Lift Station 5 (351 West Lake Street). The station has <br />deteriorating concrete that is proposed to be relined. During pre construction it was determined that as part of <br />the relining process that the sewage will need to be bypass pumped. The contractor thought originally they <br />could do the relining a different way. <br />3.Scope: <br />The project scope of work includes the installation of a temporary bypass pumping system consisting of <br />pumps, piping and controls to reroute the sewage out of the wetwell and back to the forcemain. <br />City staff will monitor for emergency pumping and control failures, both onsite and remotely during the <br />bypass this is anticipated to be approximately 2 weeks. <br />4.Cost: <br />We have solicited quotations for Lift Station 5 bypass pumping listed below.
