He said he would be willin' <br />covenant restrictions against building on those sites. <br />Qaffron noted that they will be taking a closer look <br />properties that will be Included. <br />Mayor Peterson called for questions from the Stubbs Bay Northeast <br />area. <br />Vince Larson. 3500 Stubbs Bay Road, has a 2 acre site that has <br />been preliminarily tested for a mound system. He explained that <br />6 years ago he purchased a home on North Arm Drive because It had <br />sewer and sold that property easily because It had sewer <br />available. If the sewer Is put In. 20 years from now no one will <br />say It cost too much but only realize the benefit of sewer. <br />Charlie Balgaard. 3435 East lake Street, noted that he was In <br />sticker shock. He wanted to know why the cost was double the <br />national average cost for sewer projects. He felt that cost Is a <br />big part of this Issue. <br />Mr. Glenn, 3465 Eastlake Street, noted that he lives right on the <br />lake and would prefer sewer. He felt that It will go In one way <br />or another. <br />Todd Zlesmer. 3440 Bayside Road, stated that what Ms. Rowlette <br />said was true about his property and could not see how anyone <br />could get by paying less for a holding tank. He noted that he <br />has a 2,000 gallon tank and It needed to be pumped every 3 weeks. <br />He said he cannot afford to continue to wait for the City to <br />decide on this propsrty. Ho felt the City should look at the big <br />picture to make their decision. He stated that he cannot afford <br />to Install a septic system at this time, and In the near future <br />also pay a sewer assessment to hook up. <br />Charlie Balgaard asked again why the cost Is double the national <br />average. <br />Jabbour noted that this area has smaller lots, a high water table <br />and poor soil conditions. He assured Mr. Belgaard that the City <br />win not be making money on this project. <br />Cook explained that there Is a need for a relatively high length <br />of trunk line and many areas where laterals cannot be used. He <br />also Indicated topography, lake levels, and the need to restore <br />roads all drive the cost higher. <br />Dan Esters, 3400 Bayside Road, noted there would be lift station <br />In his front yard and asked about that. <br />Cook explained that there would be an electrical panel, with <br />casting of 9-10' In diameter. Typically there would be no odor <br />emitted.
