Water Patrol Report. <br />Peterson reported the following: <br />* Lake ice conditions are dangerous. Thei*e have been a <br />number of people on the ice. The Water Patrol removes children <br />from the ice and can only advise adults. There have not been any <br />Lake ice accidents that they are aware of at this point. <br />* Deputy Ken Schilling has returned fr«->m the Florida marine <br />school with a wealth of information on boating accident <br />reconstruction. His knowledge will be helpful in issuing <br />citations. Pillsbury asked for a written report from Schilling. <br />* The Water P.atrol will start new training courses for new <br />deputy applicants in January. Three new deputies will be sworn <br />in at the Water Patrol Recognition Dinner. Peterson e.xpressed <br />disappointment that 0 applicant.^ dropped out before finishing the <br />course. ... <br />The executive director, Foster and Pillsbury and spouses <br />will attend the Water Patrol Recognition Dinner on Saturday, <br />11/30 to represent the LMCD. Peterson add*^d it is a time for <br />installing the new deputies, recognising their achievements and <br />mishaps. <br />I. Additional Business <br />Reese asked the committee to recommend a sum of money be <br />donated from the Save the Lake Fund toward the restoration of the <br />MINNEHAHA. an authentic streetcar boat. He said the boat will <br />provide a multiple user experience, in keeping with the LMCD <br />goal, allowing more people to use the Lake. The boat can be <br />on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the shed just north of County Road <br />19, 1/2 block east of the Shorewood Yacht Club entrance, <br />Excelsior. In response to a comment from f’enn. Reese will obtain <br />an updated financial statement on the restoration. noting they <br />have a $600,000 restoration budget. <br />Reese moved, Cochran seconded, to recotnmend a sum, to be <br />determined by the Board, be donated from the Save the Lake Fund <br />toward the restoration of the MINNEHAflA streetcar boat. Motion <br />carried unanimou.sly. <br />J. Other <br />Penn asked to be on the sub-committee working with the Water <br />Patrol. <br />R.
