4 <br />Wry <br />^hrr <br />GITYofORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 2996 <br />h RB8OL0TIOII FORNALLT JUX>PTING <br />AOMINI8TBATIVB MID P8R80IINBL POLICT CHANGES <br />TO THE FLAM ADOPTED NOVEMBER 25, 1985 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono last reviewed and adopted its <br />Administrative and personnel Policy in 1985 and updated it once <br />in 1988 and once in 1991, and <br />WHEREAS, staff and Council has determined that certain <br />changes should be made in Section 307 pertaining to the personal <br />holiday, to facilitate the record of use by employees, and <br />WHEREAS, Section 2.18 of the Orono City Ordinances <br />require adoption of such a policy by resolution. <br />HOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Administrative <br />and Personnel Policy revised 1/28/91 be amended as follows: <br />The City shall observe the following <br />holidays for all regular full-time employees: <br />official <br />New year's Day <br />Martin Luther King's Birthday <br />Presidents' Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Columbus Day or Friday s^ter Thanksgiving* <br />Veterans* Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Christmas Day <br />* As determined by Department Head and approved by the <br />Administrator. <br />A holiday in addition to the ten listed above will be <br />designated by the City Council prior to the start of that <br />calendar year. If not so designated as an official holiday prior <br />to 31 December of the preceding year then that one day becomes a <br />personal holiday to be scheduled at the employees convenience. <br />The Council may designate the holiday from one year to be a <br />holiday in the prior year when Christmas Day and New Years day <br />fall on -Tuesday. <br />it
