A 1940 County highway map in the <br />City record shows this current alignment. The exact date of <br />change Is not known but it is known that the lake level was <br />extremely low In the early 1930’s which would have facilitated <br />the shoreline adjustments. <br />Realignment of the County road resulted in the travelled road <br />surface, shoulders, ditches and maintenance area existing in <br />part within Brackett Avenue as platted in 1387, in part over what <br />was the bed of Lake Minnetonka at the time of the 1887 plat of <br />Orono, and in part over areas platted as private land in the <br />original plat of Orono, including: <br />Over parts of Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 17, Orono. (Hamm) <br />Over part of the "Public Reserve", Orono. (Gregory) <br />Over part of Block 18, Orono. (Gregory) <br />Realignment of the County road resulted In portions of the <br />originally platted Bracketts Avenue no longer being in active use <br />for the travelled road surface, shoulders, ditches and <br />maintenance area. Including: <br />A triangular area of platted Brackett Avenue north of Lot 1, <br />Block 17, Orono. <br />b) A triangular area of platted Brackett Avenue between the <br />travelled read, the railroad right-of-way and Blocks 1^ and <br />18, Orono, known as the Molly's Corner parking ares. <br />A triangular or dogleg area of platted Brackett Avenue <br />adjacent to Lots 4 thru 10, Block 19, Orono, where the <br />travelled roadway was relocated eastward over the original <br />bed of Lake Minnetonka. <br />Minnesota Statutes Section 180.05 provides for the statutory <br />dedication of public roads two rods (33 feet) each side of center <br />line when ever such road or a portion thereof has been used and <br />4 of 20 <br />y <br />■r> m itM
