Si-.'’ <br />kI <br />I <br />f. <br />*r,'h <br />MINUTES OF THE NEOULAN ONONO COUNCIL MEETING *• OCTOtSN 14i 1991 <br />(•#18) ADDITIONAL DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN - <br />RESOLUTION #3029 <br />It was moved by Mayor Peterson, seconded by Jabbour, to adopt <br />Resolution #3029 authorizing the addition of the U.S. Conference <br />of Mayors Deferred Compensation Program to the City of Orono <br />Deferred Compensation Plan. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />Callahan asked why the resolution encompassed elected officials. <br />Kuehn noted that this Is the only plan that would al.ow the <br />Council to participate. <br />Callahan asked how a resolution could be passed that involved the <br />Counci 1. <br />Kuehn noted that It Is strictly voluntary and therefore it could <br />be done. <br />Callahan asked who Is considered the administrator of the funds. <br />Kuehn noted that he Is only the Hason between the employees and <br />the plan. The employees select their own Investment groups. <br />Callahan asked if the Council is in any way responsible for the <br />selection of the investment groups. <br />Moorse said ho would chock Into it but would assume they are not. <br />Barrett Indicated that since the plan was selected by the City, <br />the City therefore could bo sjed. <br />Callahan directed staff to Investigate the City's liability. <br />Mayor Peterson asked If there was a disclaimer form that <br />participants would sign. <br />Barrett asked If she meant a hold harmless agreement, and noted <br />that he would check Into how they could minimize liability. <br />(*#16) CERTIFICATION OF DELINQUENT SEPTIC INSPECTION FEES, <br />AND MATER UTILITY ACCOUNTS AND RECYCLING PROGRAM FEE - <br />RESOLUTION #3030 <br />SEWER <br />It was moved by Mayor Peterson, seconded by Jabbour, to adopt <br />Resolution #3030 providing for the collection of delinquent <br />charges for 1991 sewer and water utility services and annual <br />septic Inspection and recycling program foes. Ayes 4, nays 0.
