Red and green banners proclaiming "NAVARRE WISHES <br />YOU SEASONS GREETINGS" and "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" have been delivered for all <br />forty light poles in Navarre on Hyns 15 & 19. Four 8' gold and white <br />angels with pole garlands will light up the main intesection. <br />These decorations were ordered from Vaughn Display Co in July to take <br />advantage of a <iOX Early Season discount. Out total cost is S<i909.65, a <br />savings of over $3200. In September, IbOO letters were sent to Orono <br />residents inviting the community to support our Holiday Beautification <br />program (copy attatched). Along with ••he funds raised through the Navarre <br />business community, to date we have reached over 60*/. of our goal and have <br />a fund balarKe of just over $3100. <br />Our request to you tonight is to approve th-? city's participation in the <br />following areas on an annual basis: <br />1) Initial installation of brackets <br />2) AnrKial installation of decorations <br />3) Seasonal removal of decorations <br />^) Storage of decorations from one season to the next <br />Any donations available from the City of Orono will be greatly appreciated <br />by the Navarre business community. The Shoreline Drive Beautification <br />committee has $^25 available to be used for the project, providing the <br />'matching funds' regulation is met with our parent city. <br />"Woikiiuj Joijc U h'i
