He suggested that they have acted in self <br />defense rather than support. Jabbour noted the resolution should <br />show how Orono's participation came about. <br />Goetten noted it goes back to the issue of why the LMCD <br />formed In the first place. <br />was <br />Callahan noted that ho and Jabbou'' should be appointed as <br />representatives of the Council to draft the resolution to take to <br />the LMCD expressing Orono's opposition to the plan, and wanted <br />the motion changed to reflect this appointment. <br />It Wt^s moved by Callahan, secc ided by Goetten, to notl.y In <br />writing the LMCD of Orono's opposition to the plan as drafted and <br />the reai'ons why Orono feels as such, and to appoint Callahan and <br />Jabbour to act as Council's representatives In drafting such a <br />letter. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />F) Goetten directed anyone from Long Lake to feel free to <br />contact her to discuss the Highway 12 corridor update. She <br />wanted them know she Is always available. <br />G) Mayor Peters* n .notified everyone that the SAC charge will be <br />Increased to fVCC oeginning In 1992. <br />H) Goetten reported that a concerned resident had contacted her <br />regarding the release of her dog that had been picked up on the <br />weekend. <br />Mayor Peterson explained that the dog was picked up and kenneled <br />by the police department, and because It was a weekend and the <br />office was not open, the resident was unable to pickup the <br />necessary paperwork to have the dog released. <br />Jabbour felt the Police Chief should handle the situation. <br />I) Goetten noted one correction, that the Policy Committee <br />Meeting location has been changed to the Orono Educational Link. <br />(#10) PARK COMMISSION APPOINTMENT <br />Moorse ackowledged that the Council has Interviewed <br />applicants for the vacant position on the Park Commission. <br />three <br />Mayor Peterson expressed the Council's appreciation of those <br />willing to servo on the Commission, and she hoped the other two <br />applicants would continue to want to serve the community on other <br />Commissions.
