The Police <br />Chief has also requested authorization to hire part time officers <br />to provide more flexibility in scheduling and to reduce the <br />amount of overtime usage. <br />The Police Chief has recommended that the unfilled full time <br />position be filled with a patrol officer rather than a <br />Lieutenant# The Chief has determined that it is a higher <br />priority to have a patrol officer on the street. It is <br />recommended that the selection process for both the full time <br />officer and the part time officers be initiated as soon as <br />possible.
