CITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> �1 �G; No. 7494 <br /> kESH04 <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION <br /> WHEREAS,the city is generally authorized to accept donations pursuant to Minnesota Statutes <br /> § 465.03 et seq. for the benefit of its citizens; and <br /> WHEREAS, Brian Gerhardson wishes to make a donation to the city of Orono ("city") of eight <br /> public works and first responder flags as well as a donation in the amount of$3,300 for the purchase <br /> of flags, brackets, etc. This donation is being made in memory of his brother, who was a seasonal <br /> worker for Orono parks and golf course. <br /> WHEREAS,the donation has been contributed to the city for the benefit of its citizens; and <br /> WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes § 465.03 et seq. requires that all gifts and donations of real or <br /> personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body by two- <br /> thirds of its members. <br /> WHEREAS,the city desires to accept the donation;and <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Orono City Council accepts the donations and as <br /> agreed and as allowed by law. <br /> FURTHER, staff will acknowledge the receipt of the donation. <br /> Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held on July 8, 2024. <br /> ATTEST: CITY OF ORONO <br /> Christine s ity Clerk Dennis Walsh, Mayor <br />
