CITYOF ORONO <br />RESOLUTIONOFTHE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO.7494 <br />RESOLUTIONACCEPTINGDONATION <br />WHEREAS,the city is generally authorized to accept donations pursuant to Minnesota Statutes <br />§ 465.03 et seq. for the benefit of its citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, Brian Gerhardson wishes to make a donation to the city of Orono (“city”) of eight <br />public works and first responder flags as well as a donation in the amount of $3,300 for the purchase <br />of flags, brackets, etc. This donation is being made in memory of his brother, who was a seasonal <br />worker for Orono parks and golf course. <br />WHEREAS,thedonationhasbeencontributedtothecityforthebenefit ofits citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes § 465.03 et seq. requires that all gifts and donations of real or <br />personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body by two- <br />thirds of its members. <br />WHEREAS,the citydesiresto accept thedonation;and <br />NOWTHEREFOREBEITRESOLVED that the Orono City Council accepts the donations and as <br />agreed and as allowed by law. <br />FURTHER, staff will acknowledgethereceipt of the donation. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held on July 8, 2024. <br />ATTEST:CITY OF ORONO <br />_____________________________________________________________________ <br />Christine Lusian, City Clerk Dennis Walsh, Mayor <br />33
