Duties and <br />responsibilities when choosing the county assessor’s office to perform assessing services are <br />listed below. <br /> <br />• Actually view all real and personal property within a 5 year period, as required by law. <br />• Review and appropriately value all new construction, additions, and renovation each <br />year. <br />• Adjust estimated market values on those properties not physically inspected as deemed <br />necessary per sales ratio analysis. <br />• Analyze sales, revalue all properties each year in accordance with the real estate market <br />and prepare the initial assessment roll. <br />• Print and mail valuation notices. <br />• Respond to taxpayers regarding assessment or appraisal problems or inquiries in a <br />timely fashion. <br />• Serve as an assessment resource to taxpayers and city officials. <br />223
