k:
r
LINDQUIST & VENNUM
Mcpbers of the Orono Planning Commission and Cirv- Council Members
July lO;* 1991
Page 2
the City of Orono. I would encourage the City to include this requiicment as an
additional condition to the permit.
Based upon the information provided to me, it is difficult to confirm the number of slips
approved for the dock on the property. I would request that the condition (No. 3)
regarding the dock specifically state that a dock license for more than 15 slips will not be
permitted under the terms of the Conditional Use Permit.
The remaining concern addressed by my clients was with regard to the fire rings and
barbecue pits in the area. Because the property will not be continuously occupied (as in
a residential setting), the possibility of fire is even more enhanced on the island. I would
recommend that the City also include an additional condition of the Conditional Use
Permit regarding the placement of fire extinguishers near the fire rings and barbecue pits
for safety purposes.
If I can answer any questions any of you may have in this regard, please give me a call.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Planning Commission meeting next
Monday evening. Accordingly, I would hope that this letter would set forth my clients
concerns in this regard.
Very truly yours,
LINBQUIST & VENNUM
ebra K.
