I <br />r,. <br />52190.4 <br />reqoest for services <br />TRANSPORTATION PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT <br />CONSULTANT ENGINEER <br />The Minnesota Department of Transportation has initiated a <br />corridor Selection Study for Highway 12 between the eastern <br />border of Orono to the City of Delano. This proposed facility <br />will have a very significant consequence, not only in the City's <br />transportation planning and community access, but also on its <br />land use and make-up for the longterm future. Regardless of its <br />location, the proposed four lane facility will have an impact on <br />substantial numbers of residents in the community. In order to <br />approach the planning of such a facility and the transporation <br />issues related to it, such as interchanges, feeder routes and <br />flow through the community it is felt appropriate that the City <br />solicite the services of a firm experienced in the area of <br />transportation planning, community access, impart issues, and <br />urban highway design. <br />EXPECTED/POSSIBLE USAGE - <br />Community transportation planning <br />Intregration of the City ’s current transportation <br />layout with the proposed facility. <br />At City request develop selected transportation layouts <br />in the balance of the community. <br />Review of proposed facility layouts as they relate to <br />land development. <br />Highway 12 corridor selection <br />Apprise the City of process and options it has <br />relation to the work being done by the consultant. <br />Assist the City in providing information for <br />alternative corridor designation for study. <br />.xV,....
