Bernhardson, City Administrator <br />July 12, 1991 <br />Snbjactt Lake Use Committee <br />ATTACHMENTS - <br />^1.4 /S'45 <br />Oates <br />Brief Outline of Issues and Alternatives Re: Sections <br />4.1, 4.1 and 5.1 <br />B) Updated Schedule <br />ISSUE <br />Present to Council information in advance of the next Lake <br />Use Coomittee meeting to be held at 7:00 p.m. on July 24, 1991. <br />INTRODUCTION - <br />Since the last Lake Use Committee, Mike Gaffron in <br />consultation with John Shardlow has been working to refine the <br />najor issues and alternative choices for Sections 4.01 and 4.02 <br />regarding lake/tributary classifications and land use districts <br />for discussion at the next meeting. <br />DISCUSSION - <br />On July 10, 1991, Mike Gaffron and John Shardlow met with <br />DNR representatives in order to determine ’ hot additional <br />technical background information they had available, and to ask <br />questions regarding format and policy flexibility. At the prior <br />direction of the Committee, *^hey did not discuss any specifics as <br />to the direction the City would go in selecting an> of its <br />particular alternatives. The Committee's work to date was not <br />reviewed by the DNR, and there i« no intent on the part of staff <br />to involve DNR in our review “*'o ,ss except as a provider of <br />technical and format information as may be required, unless <br />otherwise directed by the Lake Use Committee. <br />Attachment A outlines the major issues and alternatives for <br />work by the Lake Use Cosmiittee regarding Section 4. Attachment B <br />outlines an updated schedule for the review process. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1. Accept the information. <br />2. Indicate any further comments regarding this information. <br />3. Table for further discussion. <br />4. Take no action.
