The areas expected to be disturbed are intended to be <br />revegetated with a prairie grass seed mixture, to be seeded and <br />mulched within one week of completion of the grading work, other <br />plant materials to be installed within two weeks of the seeding <br />operation. The applicant's proposed planting schedule suggests <br />that the prairie grass mixture will allow for the natural <br />character which Planning Commission recommended be maintained for <br />this wetland area. <br />Referring to the memo of January 17th, the City Engineer has <br />recommended approval of the application subject to adequate <br />erosion protection measures and adherence to Watershed District <br />requirements. Watershed District approval was tabled pending <br />approval by the City of Orono. It is staff's understanding that <br />the Watershed District will issue a permit subject to City of <br />Orono approval. <br />Applicant was requested by Planning Commission in January to <br />provide the details on a shelter island and any walls or berms <br />proposed. The applicant is not proposing any walls, berm, or <br />islands, and has not changed his grading plan since your last <br />meeting. <br />Please review the memo of January 17th for specifics on the <br />pond request.
