u <br />r. <br />V; <br />A RBSOLOTION PROMOTIIIIG THE OSB OP <br />MATERIALS WITH RECYCLED CONTENT <br />IN PDBLICLT PUHDBr CC’^-TROCTIOH <br />AND RBNODELINJ PRC^ 3CTS <br />h <br />ks. <br />e i •« <br />f-i», <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County has developed a model policy to <br />provide guidance to cities in the adoption of comprehensive <br />procurement and specification policies for publicly funded <br />construction and remodeling projects which give reasonable and <br />appropriate consideration to materials with recycled content, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Orono is in agreement <br />with the Hennepin County recommendation of promoting the use of <br />materials with recycled content in publicly funded construction and <br />remodeling projects, and <br />WHEREAS, The Hennepin County Funding Reimbursement Policy <br />for the funding of recycling programs for 1991 has b^en adjusted from <br />a possible maximum of 80% of eligible expenses to 70% of eligible <br />expenses, and <br />WHEREAS, an additional 10% funding is available to <br />municipalities that have adopted, by July, 1991, a Procurement <br />Specification Policy for Publicly Funded Construction or Remodeling <br />Projects, according to and consistent with county requirements. <br />HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City <br />of Orono hereby adopts the attached policy promoting the use ox <br />materials with recycled content in publicly funded construction and <br />remodeling projects in accordance with the model policy provided by <br />Hennepin County. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />.'-ii
