The developer is subdividing the two existing lots into six that will
support new homes. Ende Septic Service conducted a site and soil evaluation to determine
suitable subsurface sewage treatment system (SSTS) areas for this 6-lot subdivision. Ende
Septic conducted soil observations from October 2023 – May 2024. Christopher Uebe of
Midwest Sewer Services, the contracted Septic Inspector for the City of Orono, verified the
soil observations for lots 2, 4, 5, and 6.

Results found:

Lots 1, 2, 5, and 6 show suitability as proposed for a Type I SSTS with primary and secondary
areas 30’ x 63’ in size. When protected, designed, and installed correctly, these SSTS areas
will provide adequate soil separation and be suitable locations for SSTS for 5-bedroom or less
homes.

Lots 3 and 4 propose the primary and alternate areas in the proposed drainage easement. The
designer must relocate the primary and alternate areas on lots 3 and 4. With the relocation and
possible re-design of the SSTS, lots 3 and 4 will also support a Type I system for five
bedrooms or less."

Nicole Post
City of Orono
Building Official
952-249-4625
npost@oronomn.gov

From: Melanie Curtis <MCurtis@oronomn.gov>
Sent: Friday, May 31, 2024 12:29 PM
To: Nicole Post <npost@oronomn.gov>
Subject: Septic Review Requested for LA24-000030, Plat of Honey Hill / 3465 & 3515 6th Ave N

Nicole,
We received an application for a 6-lot subdivision of the properties at 3465 & 3515 6th Avenue North
(+ 3 associated PIDs).
