The board recognizes the interest its <br />jn^mbor cities have in being provided time BEFORE the budget <br />is adopted and presented to the cities. This procedure is <br />baing instituted this year to advance the comment <br />opportunity. <br />The LMCD enabling act has provided for a specific budget <br />review procedure, as described in the enclosed excerpt. This <br />baa been the procedure followed in past years. <br />Tott will find the administrative levy amount, at $109,42^, <br />or about 5X over the 1991 budget. This .eount is arrived at <br />by taking the total combined disbursement- and subtracting <br />from it all other revenue items. You will note there are a <br />number of user fee revenue items already supporting the over­ <br />all operation. <br />The significant change in the 1992 budget . <br />Board's recommendation that the Eurasian water milfoil weed <br />control program should be fully funded by government <br />resources. The proposal therefore shows an increase ^he <br />cities' share, with the $170,000 to come from other public <br />agencies reflecting a requirement for increased <br />the MN DHR, projecting an increase from : <br />and the necessity for Hennepin County to back the progr y <br />some $120,000. Securing these two agencies support will <br />take the vigorous backing of our 14 Lake Minnetonka cities. <br />This budget HAS NOT been adopted by the LMCD Board. It will <br />be fully evaluated for adoption at its June 26 meeting. Your <br />city's constructive input is invited before or at that time. <br />•v.
