Bernhardscn, City Administratot^'\ <br />May 17, 1991 X <br />SUBJECT: Golf Course - Policy for Golf Rounds <br /><? <br />ISSDE - Determine formal policy for allowance of golf course <br />employees to utilize the facilities. <br />IMTOODUCTIOM - The City for an extended period of time has had an <br />informal policy that allows golf course employees to play golf at <br />no charge when they are not working and there is low use on the <br />golf course. These have been accounted for by recording the <br />rounds that the employees have used over the years. Recently the <br />Public Works Director had received complaints from the public <br />about this "privilege” as such it was felt that it would be an <br />appropriate time to develop a formal policy regarding this. <br />DISCUSSION “ Following is a survey of both public and private <br />courses and their policies regarding use of rounds by golf course <br />employees and other city employees. <br />Dakar National (Hennepin Co. Park & Rec.) <br />- Free golf for golf course employees. <br />- Immediate family included. <br />- Riding carts $2.00. <br />- Bonn. Co. Park t Rec. full~time City employees and immediate <br />family may golf free. <br />New Hods Golf (City of New Hope) <br />“ Free golf for golf course employees. <br />1/2 price for full-time City employees. <br />Braemar Golf (City of Edina) <br />- Free golffor golf course employees. <br />- Immediate family included. <br />- Free riding carts when not in demand. <br />Brookview-^lf (City of Golden Valley) <br />- Free golf for golf course employees (Mon.-Fri.) <br />- Riding carts, $2.00 when not in demand. <br />Gross-Golf (Mpls. Park 6 Rec.) <br />- Free golf for golf course employees (unlimited). <br />Hiyratha Golf (Mpls. Park & Rec.) <br />- Free golf for golf course employees (unlimited).
