ORONO CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br />FOR DECEMBER 30,1998 <br />Roll <br />The Council met on ihe above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor Gabriel <br />Jabbour. Councilmembers Charles Kelley, Barbara Peterson and Dick Flint. Representing stall was <br />City Administrator Ron Moorse. Mayor Jabbour called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. <br />City Administrator Performance Evaluation <br />The Council discussed various elements of the performance of the City Administrator over the past <br />year. The Council indicated a high level of satisfaction with the performance of the City <br />Administrator and offered a number of suggestions for improvement, fhese included the following: <br />1 . Be clear with the City Council and with citizens regarding the timing of staff <br />responses to requests, complaints, etc. <br />2. Both the City Council and the City Administrator should do more to recognize staff <br />for their accomplishments and contributions. <br />3. The City Administrator should delegate lower level tasks to create sufficient time to <br />take on higher level tasks, such as developing and maintaining relationships with <br />other agencies. <br />4. fhe City Administrator should be more assertive regarding his vision for the City. <br />5. The City Administrator and other staff should attempt to identify and resolve <br />potentially controversial issues at the staff level. <br />The City Council unanimously approved increasing the salaiy of the City Administrator by 3%. <br />Adjournment <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 a.m <br />1
