Other activities designed to extend the life of the <br />ThP lOQQ i, A ^ overlays, are provided through the use of private contractors. <br />The 1999 budget mcludes $97,000 for contractual street maintenance in the General Fund In 1998 <br />^ additional amount was included in the PiR Fund to enable tlie City to do more overlay work, -^e <br />to 1 n ^ increases this amount by $5,000. The overlays can extend the life of a roadway by up <br />to 0 years and also reduce or elimmate the need for other maintenance activities during this period. <br />B.
