The existing boathouse has <br />been determined by the City Building staff to be in disrepair. <br />A wind storm in May heavily damaged a deck that was located on top of the <br />existing boathouse. The deck could be replaced by receiving a building <br />permit, as it had existed before the storm. However, the Building Official did <br />not issue the building permit due to the existing condition of the boathouse <br />it would be located above. The deteriorating condition of the boathouse .vas <br />not a result of the wind storm. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Planning Commission recommended by a 4 to 1 vote to: <br />Deny the variances eind conditional use permit due to the deteriorating condition of the boathouse <br />was not related to the wind storm and the structure is non-conforming with the zoning code. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />To direct staff to draft a resolution.
