............ <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />VARIANCES TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.24, SUBDIVISION 5 (B) AND <br />SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISION 2 <br />FILE #2414 <br />WHEREAS, Randall G. Staffanson and Marie L. StafTanson (hereinafter "the <br />applicants") are owners of the property located at 1422 Park Drive within the City of Orono <br />(hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 1, Block 14 "Saga Hill Revised", Hennepin County, Minnesota (hereinafter "the <br />property"); and <br />WHEREAS, after due published notice and mailed notice in accordance with <br />Minnesota Statutes and the City of Orono Zoning and Planning Codes, the Orono Planning <br />Commission held a public hearing on September 21, 1998, at which times all persons desiring <br />to be heard concerning this application were given the opportunity to speak thereon; and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for variances to Municipal <br />Zoning Code Section 10.24, Subdivision 5 (B) and Section 10.22, Subdivision 2 to permit the <br />construction of a new 24'x26' garage, 15' in height, to be located 6.16' from the side property <br />line where 10' is required. Hardcover in the 250-500' setback is 31.75% (4,566.78 sq. ft.) <br />where 30% is allowed. The previous garage was destroyed by fire. <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />This application was reviewed as Zoning File #2414. <br />The property is located in the LR-IB, One Family Lakeshore Residential Zoning <br />District, where 1 acre or 43,560 sq. ft. is the minimum lot area.
