r <br />A RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF A <br />FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF <br />MUNICIPAL SANITARY SEWER TO SERVE THE <br />ORONO ORCHARDS AREA <br />WHEREAS, the project area was included in the recent MUSA expansion for sanitary sewer <br />services, a neighborhood informational meeting was held to disci ss the project, and project area <br />residents have submitted a letter indicating interest in obtaining sanitary sewer, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer has provided preliminary cost estimates for a sanitary sewer <br />extension however additional information is needed in order to establish the feasibility of such a <br />project, and <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed that municipal sanitary sewer trunks and/or laterals be <br />constructed to serve the Orono Orchards area and that the benefitted property(s) be assessed for all <br />or a portion of the cost of the improvements pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by t e City Council of Orono, Minnesota that <br />the proposed improvements be referred to the City Engineer for study and that he is instructed to <br />report to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to <br />whether the proposed improvement is necessary, cost effective, and feasible and whether it should <br />best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement and the estimated cost of <br />the improvement as recommended. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono this 24th day of August, 1998. <br />ATTEST:Gabriel Jabbour, Mayor <br />Linda S.
