Interim Use Zoning Amendment <br />August 19,1998 <br />Page 3 <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff agrees with Planning Commission that creating a list of allowable Interim Uses may create <br />more potential problems than it solves. Council must use an Interim Use ordinance judiciously in <br />â– jrder to avoid claims of spot zoning, and to ensure that neighborhoods will not be negatively <br />impacted. <br />Staff recommends adoption of the Interim Use ordinance without a list of allowed uses, and with the <br />limitation to the Highway 12 corridor areas as defined above. Council may wish to consider whether <br />any additional language is needed to more closely define under what specific situations such ^ <br />ordinance might be used. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Adopt or amend the attached Interim Use ordinance.
