This will allow for the purchase of two 127 DB sirens with DC battery back <br />up. The following is a description and cost break down of the equipment: <br />-Two (2) 2001 240 volt 127 DB rotating sirens <br />(tax) <br />-Two (2) 60 ft. class 2 poles including installation, tax and shipping <br />$15,800 <br />1027 <br />7,850 <br />-Two (2) Healy Ruff radio activators 8661.02 <br />Total $33,338.02 <br />The Federal Signal Corporation is a major manufacturer of emergency sirens and is the main <br />supplier of sirens throughout the Metro area, including the two currently used within our city. <br />The location for these sirens, as previously discussed, would allow for one in the Crystal Bay <br />area, and the second placed near Watertown and McCulley Road. <br />The activation of these sirens would be the same as the two existing units, which is provided <br />through Hennepin County Communication. <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to approve the purchase and installation of two emergency warning sirens at a <br />cost of $33,338.02, to be funded from general fund reserves, and to amend the 1998 budget to <br />reflect the expenditure. <br />i
