The applicant is proposing to use the space that was once used <br />as the library to operate a retail business to sell go carts, parts and <br />accessories. The Zoning Code does not list the sell of go carts as either a <br />pemutted or conditional use in any commercial section of the ordinance. The <br />applic^t is requesting that the Planning Commission recommend to the City <br />Council to consider it similar to a hobby shop and bicycle shop. <br />Pertinent Ordinances: <br />• Section 10.40. B-1, Retail Sales Business District., Subd. 3. <br />The purpose of the B-1 district is to provide a district for businesses that supply commodities or <br />perform a service pnm^ly for residents in the surrounding neighborhood. The Zoning Code is very <br />specific about the permitted retail and service businesses to be allowed. This list is very narrow and <br />IS not uHo-^te for services offered today. For example, video stores, tanning salons, nail salons. <br />quick pnm shops, and coffee shops are not listed but would be expected to be found in this zoning <br />district.
