i\ <br />SPECIAL ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING ^ <br />MINUTES FOR TUESDAY, JANUARY 6, <br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------—— ----------------------------------------------------- ' ' <br />Vr) <br />ROLL <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jabbour at 8:00 a.m. Members present: Mayor Jabbour <br />and Council Members Goetten, Kelley and Peterson. Members absent: Council Member Flint. <br />Others present: Ron Moorse, City Administrator; Greg Gappa, Public Services Director; Tom <br />Kellogg, Consultant Engineer; and Glenn Cook, Consultant Engineer. <br />Mayor Jabbour indicated the item for Council consideration was a resolution endorsing candidates <br />for appointment to the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) Board. Mayor Jabbour <br />pro''’ led background regarding the candidate review process. This is an opportunity for the cities <br />within the Watershed District to have candidates appointed to the Board who support the views of <br />the cities regarding the management of water resources. As none of the candidates proposed for <br />endorsement are currently incumbents on the Board, Council Member Goetten asked who the <br />incumbents are. Mayor Jabbour indicated he was not sure who all the incumbents are, but one is <br />Woody Love from Shorewood. Mayor Jabbour indicated he is not familiar with the candidates <br />proposed for endorsement but suggested the Council follow the suggestions made by the candidate <br />interview board. The interview board included Howard Bennis, the Mayor of Deephaven and Ed <br />Shukle, the City Manager of Me and. <br />Council Member Kelley moved and Council Member Peterson seconded approval of the resolution <br />endorsing candidates for appointment to the MCWD Board.
