sr< <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR MAY 26, 1998 <br />r <br />(#7) Robert Waade, 3280/3290 North Shore Drive - Preliminary Plat Approval - continued <br />Jabbour complimented Waade for his proposed improvements this area. Waade responded that <br />he works with high-end development and sees this as a positive improvement for the area. <br />Jabbour stated that if three units had existed on this property, three should be allowed to remain. <br />Peterson commented that the duplex use was appropriate for the area. <br />Mrs. Waade noted that it would be extremely difficult to sell a single family home next to a <br />marina and lift station. <br />Peterson moved, Flint seconded, to direct staff to draft a resolution conceptually approving the <br />proposed subdivision for the property located at 3280/3290 North Shore Drive and approving the <br />conditional use permits for duplex credit and grading within 5’ of a lot line. Ayes 3, Nays 1. <br />Kelley voted against the motion. <br />Peterson asked if the applicant was still working with the marina on the berm. Waade confirmed <br />that he was. <br />(#8) #2355 DOUGLAS VAN MOORLEHEM, 4490 WATERTOWN ROAD - <br />PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION APPROVAL <br />The applicant was not present. <br />Gaffron explained that the applicant has requested that review of lus application be tabled to the <br />June 8 meeting. He confirmed there w£s no problem with deadline dates. <br />Peterson moved, Kelley seconded, to table Applicaii"*K #2355 for preliminary subdivision <br />approval for the property located at 4490 Watertown Road. Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />(#9) #2358 RANDY & MARIE STAFFANSON, 1422 PARK DRIVE - VARIANCE <br />Mr. and Mrs. Staffanson were present. <br />Van Zomeren stated the neighbors had been le-notified of the public hearing. She explained that <br />hardcover and side yard setback variances were granted in April to allow a new garage to e <br />attached to the existing residence. The applicants have now requested hardcover and side yard <br />setback variances to rebuild the garage that was destroyed by a fire in its previous location.
