r- <br />fc: <br />li <br />Mr. Mark Bemhardson <br />December 27, 1990 <br />Page 2 <br />waters which result from the heavy stream-like flow around <br />through the walls of the basement and up through the floor <br />of the basement, the weakening and buckling of two and one- <br />half walls in the basement, further foundation problems, <br />window problems, and destruction of the Cuffs driveway. <br />The Cuff's have been informed by various contractors <br />that repairs will cost in excess of $10,000 I strongly <br />believe that at least part of this damage cov d have been <br />prevented by swift city Council action. However, the City <br />has steadfastly refused to vote on whether to build a storm <br />sewer. The City's actions have come with the knowledge that <br />a storm sewer in the Navarre Heights subdivision west of <br />County Road 19 and north County Road 15, will alleviate the <br />drainage problem for t.he cuff's property as well as other <br />adjacent properties. This fact has been supported by the <br />city's engineers, as well as various individuals who have <br />testified at public hearings before the City Council. <br />At this time, the Cuffs have advised me to make a <br />.“'t* <br />the City. <br />Demand for damages fiom the City should not further <br />delay a vote (on February 11, 1991) on the Navarre Heights <br />Accordingly, by this demand, the Cuffs are not withdrawing <br />their request for a storm sewer. <br />If I do not receive a response from the City by January <br />15, 1991, I will proceed with a Complaint in this matter.
