PLANNING COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 20, 1991 <br />about size. We are trying r-.o get the citizen's input this <br />eveninc; to assist us with making our recorTirnendation. <br />A member of the audience asked how the citizens could learn <br />of the Pj.anning Commission' s recommendation once it is made. <br />Kelley stated that thei.r recommendation will oe public <br />information. Ke added that t.he piblic is welcome to attend t;-.e <br />work session that will be held or. February 27th at 5:.i0 p.m. He <br />said, Planning Commission vn 11 address your questions <br />regarding our position on the Comprehensive Plan, but that is <br />all." <br />Johnson stated that he supports the Comprehensive Plan. He <br />said, "I think everyone up here has worked hard to see that it is <br />carried out." <br />Hanson sail, "I also support the Comprehensive Plan, but it <br />should also be stated that I have seme qu-stions regarding its <br />workability in certain areas, soezifically public and private <br />roads." <br />Rowlette stated that her support of the Comprehensive Plan <br />is one of the reaso.ns that she volunteered to serve on the <br />Planning Commission. She said, "At this point I really do not <br />know what should happen with a highway corr.dor. I have strong <br />feelings in many different directions." <br />V <br />Tom Terry, 4225 Watertown Road, asked Rowlette whether she <br />■> d be able tc make an unbiased decisions for the betterment of <br />lo, when s.he nas a business Iccatad on Highway 12 i.'* Long <br />1. .i • .e. <br />Rowlette replied, "Absolutely. I have a hon.se in Orono <br />which is more of any investment than my Long Lake business." <br />Gail Harris, 2195 Fr -nch Ls/^e. Road, asked the Planning <br />Commission the following thi e questions; <br />1. Is a new corridor, one that is not existing at this <br />point, consistent with the Comi .-ehensive Plan? <br />It was the Planning Comm.ssion’s consensus that such a <br />corridor would p- be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. <br />2. Is <br />Comprehensive R <br />upgrade of Highway 12 consistent v^ith the <br />>r • • <br />The Planning Commission agreed t^at an upgrade could be <br />consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. <br />3.
