Bernhardson, City Administrator <br />DATE:February 28, 1991 <br />SUBJECT: Town Meeting <br />ISSUE - <br />im c* ' ■ ^Presentation to Council of place for the meeting. <br />2^^^i^ertnine agenda, if any, the Council would desire for that. <br />3, Determine any desired attendance on the part of staff members. <br />INTRODUCTION - At the Council's February 25, 1991 Council meeting <br />they directed staff to establish the Town Meeting at the High <br />School in either the auditorium or the cafeteria from 10 to noon <br />on Saturday, April 6, 1991. <br />DISCUSSION - <br />Issue #1 - The cafereria has been obtained for that meeting and <br />we have asked for coffee and cups for approximately 150 people. <br />Issue #2 - Or: ally presented for a Town Meeting was the issue <br />of an open fc U" have the public state concerns they have <br />regarding the Cxcy. Given the potential lack of interest in an <br />open forum or the direction that such a format could take, it is <br />suggested that a list of key topics be established. Strategic <br />plan priorities may be appropriate listing of issues and that <br />people would be allowed to bring up other issues later on in the <br />agenda. <br />Issue #3 - Type of format and topics together with Council's <br />thinking about the matter would be instructive as to what staff <br />members, if any, they would desire to have in attendance at that <br />meeting or if they would prefer to have CounciImembers meeting <br />with the public. <br />ALTERNATIVES - <br />1, Accept the information <br />2. Establish an agenda. <br />3. Table until the March 25, 1991 Council meeting. <br />4. Outline what staff members, if any, they would like. <br />5. Take no action. <br />RECOMMENDATION - It is recommended that the Council indicate what
