Begioningwiih die move into <br />Qv'^iew''home and ending with a very <br />flHoessftil first-time community fun- <br />dnidng campaign and a best-ever <br />Chririmas outreach. <br />Il was a year of great leaps iu com- <br />aamity awamness and community <br />miolve ID make our community <br />woriuJor eveiyone...fe>pecially those for <br />whom life has become extraordinarily <br />Il was a year of significant <br />lervioe leaps. In the last half of 1990 <br />we mw aa average of 44 new house­ <br />holds each month, and added 12 new <br />driven and 22 more rides per month to <br />ourTiansportationdeliveiy. Increased <br />support for our foodshelf from all sectors <br />of the community allowed us to distrib­ <br />ute 101331* of food in response to <br />3.103 requests for food assistance. <br />Hie lib for dl this was S300.000... <br />and you provided $303,000. <br />At the same time we have experi­ <br />enced exciting growth in our volunteer <br />bale, the development of new and <br />eqwiided resources and new collabora­ <br />tive iniiiatives between lOCP and other <br />community agencies and resources. <br />Ihanks to all of you. we launched the <br />Home Pragect and the new BeFriender <br />Ptognm. We welcomed four new <br />church memben —the new Presbyte­ <br />rian Chinch of Ptymouth. the Church of <br />leans Chiisi of Latter Day Saints. St. <br />Maiyofiia Lake.mid St. Maitin'sby- <br />the4jke. <br />Il*s been a truly amazing year. Then they <br />passed 8000 items of food . bucket bngade style, <br />down the line and into the food shelf. Tbe sun <br />shone; hclicopten flew overhead, —it was a <br />joyous day. In November the BeFriendcr <br />Ministry Team from St. Thomas University <br />trained 18 coordinators from 8 local <br />churche.s and lOCP.
