2024 Hennepin County All -Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan <br />Volume 2 — Hazard Inventory <br />Warning Products <br />Remarks <br />Sustained wind or frequent gusts greater than <br />A major life safety hazard is ongoing or <br />or equal to 35 mph accompanied by falling <br />imminent. Danger is greatest for those <br />and/or blowing snow, frequently reducing <br />traveling or caught outdoors. Maybe issued <br />visibility to less than 1/4 mile for three hours <br />2-4 times per year in open areas of for <br />or more <br />southern and western Minnesota. Very rare <br />in Hennepin County, one was November 1-2, <br />1991. <br />Significant and dangerous winter weather is <br />This product spans a large range, from <br />expected, generally within 24 hours. Six or <br />heavy snow events with little or no wind, to <br />more inches of snow, not to exceed 48 hours, <br />major wind -driven events that produce <br />half an inch of sleet and/or forecaster <br />near -blizzard conditions.
