He said. “The neighbor brought in a <br />tremendous amount of fill. There was drainage onto my property, <br />but it was not as severe as it is now since the retaining v/alls <br />were removed. I know Maureen was out to look at the property. <br />Does the Planning Commission believe there is drainage coming <br />from the neighbor's property?" <br />Rowlette replied, "There is no doubt about it. You can see <br />evidence of where the water is draining and there are exposed <br />tree roots <br />The other Planning Commission members concurred <br />30IXOWS said, "I am concerned about Mr. Downey's proposal to <br />resolve the problem. I do not see that v/hat is proposed will fix <br />the area that has had the most severe erosion. The area oy tne <br />accomplish what you are trying to achieve. <br />Bellows referred to the letter from the City Engineer. She <br />said, "It is Glenn Cook’s opinion that the retaining wall planned <br />is in excess of what is necessary for bank stabilization. He is <br />calling for a retaining wall along the east side 01 the boat <br />house. However, he is not in favor of the other wa-ls as shown. <br />Mr. Downey replied, "I am trying to save as much money as <br />possible and am, therefore, receptive to the City Engineer s <br />iBOve the boat house out of its present locatj.on. <br />B0XIOW8 asked Mr. Downey how the boat house is currently <br />being used. <br />Mr. Dowiey replied. "It is being used as a recreational area <br />for my children and for a place to store v/ater skis, etc." <br />Hanson said, "I am in agreement that some form of retaining <br />walls are necessary to deal with erosion, particularly at the <br />east wall of the boat house.
