1 <br />t <br />J ‘v <br />CITY <br />ORONO> <br />City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. ________________ <br />will not unreasonably require strict compliance and <br />will generally look with favor on granting of a <br />variance under Section 10.08. <br />Orono Resolution #961 states as follows; <br />Other uses may be considered by the Council upon <br />application and upon the finding that the proposed use <br />is less non-conforming than the above permitted uses. <br />12. After the approval of the conditional use permit <br />(Resolution #2193), the applicant obtained permits necessary <br />to prepare the building for the sales use (i.e. removal of <br />underground tanks, remodeling of building and installing of <br />air conditioning). <br />13. Early in the summer of 1987, the applicant learned that <br />the persons who were to operate the boat sales business were <br />no longer interested in operating a boat sales operation on <br />the property. <br />14. During the rest of the summer and early fall of 1987, <br />the applicant attempted to sell or lease the property for <br />boat sales use. If the City received calls from persons <br />interested in other uses, they were advised of the need for <br />a conditional use permit. <br />15. After a phone call from the applicant, the Zoning <br />Administrator sent a letter on January 25, 1988 advising <br />applicant of limitations of the conditional use permit <br />granted in June of 1987. The letter reads as follows; <br />Dear Mr. Toberman: <br />This letter is written to confirm matters discussed in <br />an earlier phone conversation relating to the use of <br />Page 4 of 13
