He <br />said, "I think everyone up here has worked hard to see that it is <br />carried out." <br />Hanson said, "I also support the Comprehensive Plan, but it <br />should also be stated that I have some questions regarding its <br />workability in certain areas, specifically public and private <br />roads." <br />Rowlette stated that her support of the Comprehensive Plan <br />is one of the reasons that she volunteered to serve on the <br />Planning Commission. She said, "At this point I really do not <br />know what should happen with a highway corridor. I have strong <br />feelings in many different directions." <br />Tom Terry, 4225 Watertown Road, asked Rowlette whether she <br />would be able to make an unbiased decisions for the betterment of <br />Orono, when she has a business locatad on Highway 12 ir’ Long <br />Lake. <br />Rowlette replied, "Absolutely. I have a house in Orono <br />which is more of any investment than my Long Lake business." <br />Gail Harris, 2195 French Lake Road, asked the Planning <br />Commission the following three questions: <br />1, Is a new corridor, one that is not e.xisting at this <br />point, consistent with the Comprehensive Plan? <br />It was the Planning Commission's consensus that such a <br />corridor would not be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. <br />2, Is an upgrade of Highway 12 consistent with the <br />Comprehensive Plan? <br />The Planning Commission agreed that an upgrade could be <br />consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. <br />3, Is a four-lane, freeway/highway consistent with the <br />- 17 -
