Mayor Peterson asked that Council have the opportunity <br />to si«3n the letter before it is sent to Mr. Iverson. Motion, <br />Ayes>4, Nays-0. Motion passed. <br />COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENT - LT. FRITZLER* <br />It was m.nved by Callahan, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to <br />authorize the increase from $18.26 to $19..iO under the 1990 <br />Supervisor's Contract for Lt. Fritzler, based on his satisfactory <br />performance. The increase is effective 2/1/91. Motion, Ayes--4, <br />Nays-O. Motion passed. <br />PERSONAL WATERCRAFT - PROPOSED LEGISLATION <br />Ms. Hurr stated that the LMCD has adopted a Personal <br />Watercraft Ordinance for Lake Minnetonka, and that she would <br />compare it to the legislation proposed by Representative Smith. <br />Jabbour stated that the proposed regulation to restrict boat <br />speeds when going through a weed-infested area may cause more <br />harm than good. He said, "It is preferable that boats avoid weed <br />areas altogether. Secondly, if a boater finds himself in a weed <br />area, it is beat to go through it as fa.at as possible. Going <br />through at a slow speed may cause the propellers to clog and <br />stop. That would leave the boater ii a dangerous situation <br />because it is difficult to swim through Milfoil." <br />Callahan stated that, in his opinion. Representative Smith's <br />proposed legislation is redundant, and therefore unnecessary. <br />Council took no further action on this item. <br />RBQ0B8T FOR FUNDING - WEST SUBURBAN MEDIATION CENTER* <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to <br />authorize the payment of $500.00 as outlined in Attachment A, as <br />the request is within the amount budgeted for 1991.
