We have had several new Planning <br />Commission members over the last few years. I do not believe <br />there has been any joint meeting where Council has indicated what <br />they expect of the Planning Commission. As to the Planning <br />Commission's flexibility, I hope they can change. Ti.ese people <br />have taken the time to be involved, and can hopefully be flexible <br />enough to understand the City's direction." <br />Jabbour thanked Mr. Kelley for all af his time he has <br />dedicated to the City. <br />Mayor Peterson stated that Marvin Kramer is also withdrawing <br />his application. She again thanked a. 1 of the applicants for <br />attending the meeting and for their presentations. Mayor <br />Peterson added that Council has a difficult decision to make, but <br />would reach a decision in two weeks. <br />Goetten expressed her appreciation for the applicants <br />interest and efforts and was pleased to see that people wish to <br />become involved. <br />Callahan urged the applicants to seek positions that may be <br />available on the Park Commission, Planning Commission, or other <br />committees, should they not be appointed for tie Council <br />positicn. <br />Jabbour stated that Orono i^ fortunate to have so many <br />quality people interested in serving the Community. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES* <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Callahan, to approve <br />the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held January 14, 1991. <br />Motion, Ayes-4, Nays-9. Motion passed. <br />PUBLIC CONHENTS: <br />Goetten informed the public of an upcoming Hannepin County <br />Property Tax meeting. She said. This will be an information <br />meeting and it is scheduled for February 7, 1991, from 7:00 p.m. <br />to 9:00 p.m. at the V^ayzata Junior Hign School." <br />Mayor Peterson added, "It Is understanding that the <br />meeting will be a panel discussion, with a town meeting <br />- 13 -
