Date: May 13, 2024 Item: 21 <br />Presenter: Adam Edwards, City Administrator / Engineer <br />Section: City Administrator/Engineer Report <br /> <br />Title: Navarre Garage Additions (24-034) - Award <br /> <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The purpose of this item is to award Navarre Garage Addition Project. <br />2.Background: <br />At the March 11, 2024 council meeting staff was directed to design and addition for the existing <br />storage garage at the Navarre Water Plant. Oertel Architects prepared the designs and <br />specification sheets for the addition and city staff solicited quotes from local construction <br />companies. The addition will be used to store some Orono fire equipment until the return of the <br />Navarre Fire Station at which time the facility will revert back to general equipment storage for <br />multiple city departments. <br />3.Scope: <br />The scope of the project is to construct and 14 x 36 foot addition to the water plan garage. (See <br />Exhibit A for Site plan and Building Floor Plan) <br />4.Cost: <br />Four quotes were solicited and two received. The low quotes was from Dering Pierson Group <br />(DPG) for $169,513.46. The other quote received was from Ebert Construction for $172,900.00. <br />5.Funding: <br />The project will be funded by the Facilities Fund, which includes $3,000,000 for fire facilities <br />from the 2021 facilities bond. <br />6.Staff Recommendation: <br />I recommend acceptance of the quote provided by DPG <br />AGENDA ITEM <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Accept quote from DPG for $162,513.46 to construct an addition at the Navarre water plant garage. <br />Exhibits <br />A.
