The official holidays include Friday, December 24 <br />as the Christmas holiday observance due to Christmas Day falling <br />on a Saturday; and Monday, December 27 as the City's designated <br />holiday to provide a 4 day holiday weekend. <br />A quirk in the calendar has caused the 1994 New Years holiday to <br />be observed on Friday, December 31, 1993 since January 1st falls <br />on a Saturday.
