Box 164 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 95323 <br />f ! <br />Dear Mayor Peterson: <br />REVZEir AND COMMENT ON CITY OF DEEPHAVEN'S REQUEST FOR FLEXIBILITY <br />FROM STATE OF MINNESOTA'S SHORELAND MANAGEMENT STANDARDS <br />As required by the statewide shoreland Banaqeeent standards, the <br />Conissioner of the Minnesota Departaent of Natural Resources (DNR) <br />and the City of Deephaven are hereby notifying your city of <br />Deephaven's request for flexibility fron the statewide standards as <br />outlined below, and in the enclosure prepared by the city's <br />consultant. In accordance with the rules, the Ceaeissioner and the <br />city eust solicit the input and approval of other govemnental <br />bodies that could be affected or iapacted by the alternate <br />controls. The city and the DNR are asking that your city provi^ <br />its review and consents, if any, to either DNR or the city within <br />49 days of the date of this letter. If no response is received <br />prior to then, we will assune that your city has no concerns with <br />the neighboring city's proposal. <br />The City of Deephaven is requesting flexibility fron the following <br />statewide standards: <br />1. Building height, and <br />2. Inpervious surface coverage. <br />A thorough discussion of this request has been prepared by the <br />city's consultant and is attached for /ou and/or your staff to <br />review. The above requests have been presented by the city's <br />representatives for review and discussion by representatives of 11 <br />Lake Minnetonka citiee who are working together as a TechniMl <br />Review Coeaittee for the purpose of reviewing and discnieeing <br />individual city's flexibility requests affecting Lake Minnetonka. <br />No problems with the city's request have been noted at any of those <br />■eetings. <br />AN fQyAL owaruNiTv <br />i • <br />t; <br />\
