TO:
FROM:
DATE:
Mayor and City Council
Ron Moorse, City Administrator
November 5, 1.92
C'
a
%
%
SUBJECT: City Facility Change Orders
The attached change orders relate to changes that have previously
been reviewed with and approved by the Council. They have also
been factored into the facilities budget. The following is a
brief explanation of each change order.
A. Jansco Caulking - Add $70.00. This is for additional
caulking related to the change to precast concrete over
the police security area.
B. Molin Concrete - Add $6,867.00. This is the
installation of the precast concrete in the ceiling of
the police security area to meet the State Department of
Corrections requirements.
C. Ted Mannstedt & Son - Add $8,540.00. This is a
portion of the cost related to the city's decision to
provide for a full mezzanine level.
D. National Automatic Sprinkler Co. - Add $6,580.00.
The bulk of this is another portion of the costs related
to the provision of a full mezzanine level. The $840.00
is the cost to provide for the ability to flush the
water service.
E. Gephart Electric Company - Deduct $9,267.00. This
change order shows the initial cost of the emergency
generator and the reduced amount related to relocating
the generator to the Police building and down-sizing the
generator. The large deduct reflects the reductions
required to balance the budget.
F. Grosser Concrete - Add $1,331.00. The original
plans did not include the details of the vehicle hoists
in the Public Works garage. When the hoists were
ordered the hoist pits required more work than the
original bid anticipated. Also, because of a delay in
the delivery or the hoist equipment, the concrete
contractor mobolized his crew once for the slab in the
larger of the garage and a second time for the vehicle
maintenance area.
Council Action Requested - Motion to approve the attached change
orders for Jansco Caulking, Molin Concrete, Ted Mannstedt and
Son, National Automatic Sprinkler, Gephart Electric and Gresset
Concrete.
