Gerhardson, Public Works Director % <br /><>4 <br />eJack Brinkhaus, Street Department Foreman <% <br />September 10, 1992 <br />Fall Cleanup Day - October 17, 1992 <br />The City of Orono Public Works Department is planning Fafl^ <br />Cleanup Day on Saturday, October 17, 1992 from 8:00 a.m* to 4:00 <br />p.m. <br />The collection point will be behind the long, gold equipment shed <br />at Brown Road South and Spates Avenue in Crystal Bay, next to the <br />Administration Building. <br />The following items will NOT be accepted: <br />newspaper or corregated cardboard <br />garbage <br />trees <br />brush, leaves and grass <br />chemicals <br />truck loads <br />barrels, drums, chemical containers, petroleum products <br />and their containers <br />newspapers and other items normally picked up by <br />recyclers <br />construction materials <br />Construction materials consist of, but are not limited to, <br />concrete, lumber, doors, wood moldings, boards, railroad ties, <br />landscape timbers, sheetrock, tile, etc. <br />Leaves, grass and brush will not be accepted this weekend because <br />of severe space limitations. <br />Appliances will be accepted at our site by a company called ARCA <br />Inc., who removes the harmful PCB's from them and then recycles <br />the steel. An $8.00 fee will be charged per appliance. <br />Televisions, video recorders, stereos, etc. will be accepted by <br />another company and a $6.00 fee will be charged for the disposal <br />of each of these. <br />We will also accept tires. A private company will be here to <br />accept them for a fee. The residents will be required to pay <br />about $2.00 per car tire. <br />ORONO RESIDENTS ONLYl <br />It is recommended to designate October 17, 1992 as the Fall Cleanup <br />Day with the above guidelines. <br />i
